The Upper Dolpo is one of the most remote and unspoiled regions of the Himalayas and it is considered to be the wild west of Nepal. This wonderful and also challenging tour takes you through original strong Tibetan culture past turquoise lakes, several high passes (over 5,000m) and unspoiled nature. The Upper Dolpo tour is beautiful, challenging and seductive
Upper Dolpo (also called inner Dolpo) is surrounded by high mountains, keeping it untouched by external influences. It is also the most populated region of Nepal and it is located in the Northwestern part, inside the Shey Phoksumdo National Park, and in the south it shares borders with the Dhaulagiri chain.
Bon Buddhism belongs to Tibetan – Lamaist cultures of everyday life of the Dolpo residents, who call themselves “Dolpo-Pa”.
On this tour we will take the more distant and more challenging paths to Jomsom, thereby crossing several high mountain passes, such as Kang La, Saldang La, Jeng La, Chhoi La , Chharka La and Sangda La .
Our route is planned carefully and with sufficient time for acclimatisation to ensure that you stay fit and healthy.
This trek is a good choice if you have already done other demanding tours in Nepal and are in very good physical fitness and health.
