The combination of a 6-day panorama trek, 2 days of sightseeing in the city of Kathmandu and its surroundings, a 2-day stay by the lake in Pokhara, and the absolute calm during our stay at the monastery in Pharping made this trip absolutely perfect and wonderfully varied.
Kathmandu:
At the airport we were warmly welcomed by our tour leader, brought to the hotel, informed about the complete itinerary of the trip and, to finish things off nicely, invited to a very traditional restaurant for Nepalese food. With that began an unforgettable time in Nepal.
In Kathmandu we couldn’t stop being amazed. Every glance revealed something foreign yet fascinating. It is such a traditionally oriented city with an interesting culture.
Panorama Trek to Muldai Peak:
On our 6-day trek we were accompanied by a kind and self-assured and friendly young guide (Sagar), who responded understandingly to every one of our wishes. We also took the friendly porter (Many) to our hearts.
The mix of jungle and mountain landscapes, of gorges and forests, the many beautiful mountain villages, the interesting wildlife and the consistently lovely view was simply fantastic. The selection of our spartan but cosy and lovingly designed lodges/guesthouses with the super tasty, fresh food and the friendly hosts was outstanding.
Every morning we looked forward to the new day’s trip with all its experiences. The highlight of the trek was the summit of Muldai Peak. How wonderful and impressive the highest mountains in the world are, we had always tried to imagine. But to see several next to each other with clear visibility and at sunrise, plus a view stretching into infinity, was tear-inducing and breathtakingly beautiful. Moving and unforgettable.
Pokhara:
A city that every Nepalese dreams of visiting once in their life, was beautifully situated in front of a mountain backdrop by Phewa Lake and we really liked it.
Pharping:
Spending two days in a monastery was interesting, restful and calming. Being allowed to also take part in the chants was very impressive.
The walks around the monastery, located on a hillside between the many terraced fields, were wonderful and a perfect conclusion to our unforgettable trip.
