The trip was really great and once again outstanding in terms of organisation. We were very satisfied with the guides and drivers, and the fact that we had Jackie as a contact person on the ground was also very good. The best accommodation was clearly the Mtoni River Lodge, but the Brubru Lodge in Moshi, which we chose ourselves, was also really super, we can highly recommend it. At this point we also wanted to warmly thank you for your advice in the run-up to the trip, to do Mount Meru before Kilimanjaro for acclimatisation. That really did make sense in order to cope better with the altitude. Doing Mount Meru in 3 days was stressful in the end with the descent, but it allowed us to fit in the Serengeti and it was 100% worth it. Without the Serengeti we would have really missed out, because the safaris and the nights at Embalakai Camp in this unique nature were unforgettable. Finally on Kilimanjaro, that was of course the highlight of our trip. We always felt very well looked after, the guides and porters gave it their all and took good care of us. The tent and the sleeping mats were super and even held up to the never-ending rain of the first days. There was always a lot of tea and warm water for us, and the food was also very good and varied. When we came down from the summit, the whole team was sincerely happy for us, that was very heart-warming. On the descent there was a small but very good deviation from the tour programme. We went from base camp directly to Low Camp (Mweka Camp) and not just to Millennium Camp. That way we only had to walk for about 3 hours to the gate on the last day. From Millennium Camp that would certainly have taken longer, contrary to the information in the tour programme, because we were always moving along quite fast. And finally, of course we would book with geoDiscovery Tours again, we already have for 2026 :-)!
