At 6,461m, Mera Peak is the highest “trekking peak” in Nepal. A tough but rewarding expedition takes you from the main trails to Everest into the sparsely populated, wild and very unspoiled Hinku Valley in the Makalu-Barun National Park. From the summit of Mera Peak Central, you reach a viewpoint with spectacular views of five eight-thousanders: Cho Oyu to the northwest, Everest and Lhotse to the north, as well as Makalu and Kanchenjunga to the northeast.
