We met each other in Kathmandu at dinner. It was lovely that Mrs. Kolay was at this dinner and we got to meet her personally.
The next day we then also met our two Nepalese guides Nava and Gurun.
The adventure began with a 7-hour drive to Syange. From Syange we hiked via Tal, Tanchowk and Upper Pisang to Manang. The landscapes that lined our path were fantastic.
Often we had wonderful weather until early afternoon, before thunderstorms and rain set in. However, on the section from Upper Pisang to Manang it snowed all day.
From Manang we headed to our first highlight, Tilicho Lake.
Two days later, via Yak Kharka, we headed to our second highlight, the Thorong La Pass. The landscapes that accompanied us here were breathtaking.
After 2,800 metres of descent we arrived in Muktinath.
From there we drove by jeep to Tatopani. Once there, we felt as if we were in the jungle. The landscape was green, the crickets were chirping and we could bathe in the hot springs. The next day we laced up our hiking boots again and walked to Paudwar Village, Swanta and on to Ghorepani.
After the ascent to Poon Hill, the trail continued downhill to Ulleri. Our last hiking day, before driving by jeep to Pokhara. We had made it.
An exciting, fun and eventful time had come to an end. We were a great team that grew together into a family. An unforgettable adventure! Thank you Gülüstan
Our conclusion:
If we were to travel to Nepal again, then only with geoDiscovery Tours! Why?
We felt very well advised and looked after at all times. With all the information before the trip, with the packing list and numerous tips, we could prepare really well. The equipment check in Kathmandu with Gülüstan and guide Nava was also worth its weight in gold.
Our well-being was always the focus: Along the way, from a certain altitude, our oxygen levels were measured and monitored, and our experienced guide Nava, confident of success, brought us to our destination no matter what altitudes – and the associated challenges – we had to overcome.
All this and much more, as well as the always personal and individual support – before, during and after the trip – made this long-distance hike a very special and unforgettable experience!
