Arriving in Kathmandu you immediately feel the flair of Asia – wild hustle and bustle on the streets, plenty of side streets dotted with shops. After a flight to Lukla, the hub for trekkers from all over the world who want to explore the Himalayan region – the Solukhumbu – your worldview changes at once. Urban infrastructure gives way to paths and climbs. Trucks are replaced by yaks. Delivery vans by porters. Material transport above 2,800 m (Lukla) is almost exclusively carried out by humans and animals. As you approach the higher places, the unique mountain landscape of the Himalaya moves more and more into the foreground. The snow-covered heads of numerous well-known and unnamed peaks seem to be within touching distance.
The wealth of unforgettable impressions, which can only be experienced through the trekking sections to be mastered beforehand, are many.
