The Langtang Valley is a real insider tip…

The Langtang Valley is a real insider tip compared to the mass rush in the Annapurna and Everest Himalayas. Severely shaken by the 2015 earthquake, the completely destroyed places Langtang and Kyangijn Gompa have meanwhile been entirely rebuilt.
After an adventurous arrival by jeep to the start of the tour in Syabru Besi, we hiked through the scenically impressive and varied Langtang Valley from 1420m up to 3980m. After several daily stages we reached the start of the glacier tongue at Kyangijn Gompa (= the highest place in the Langtang Valley), where we also climbed the 4630m-high Kyangijn Ri.

On the way back we branched off shortly before Syabru Besi into the Gosainkund Kyangjin Valley, which is scenically completely different from the Langtang Valley; here we climbed back up to 3400m via Thula Syabru to Shin Gompa. From Shin Gompa we shortened our trekking tour by descending to Dhunche at 2030m, and from there, after nine days of trekking, headed back to Kathmandu by jeep to rest for one more day before our return flight.
Since we were also lucky with the weather, it was an exceptional trekking tour of superlatives with tremendous impressions of breathtaking landscapes. In addition, the Nepalese people have become very dear to our hearts through their warmth and friendliness.
We would like to thank our trekking guide Sudib and our porter Ram, who took good care of us and guided us thoughtfully from the beginning to the end of the trekking tour.
With our tour operator geoDiscovery Tours we felt very well looked after from our arrival in Kathmandu through to our departure. A special thanks goes to Mrs. Kolay, who already advised us very well by phone in the run-up to our trekking tour. Meeting Mrs. Kolay in person in Kathmandu reinforced the positive impressions of geoDiscovery Tours as a competent operator for trekking trips.
If we plan another trekking tour in Nepal, geoDiscovery Tours will be our first port of call.
