Unforgettable Nepal!
Namaste! For us it was the first trip to Nepal – and probably not the last.
Here is our overall tour, which we put together with geoDiscovery Tours, in short: 2 nights in bustling Kathmandu (worth seeing, wonderfully crazy), 10 days of trekking (dreamlike), 2 nights in Bandipur (wonderfully quiet and relaxing), 2 nights in Bhaktapur (impressive royal city with its old temples and pagodas).
Here is a short summary of our trekking tour: in many ways it was an impressive, fantastic tour! There is so much to it: the incomparable nature with the majestic mountains, the deep valleys, incredible vastness, the “Nepalese jungle” with its rhododendron trees… waterfalls rush down into the depths and families of monkeys swing around in the bamboo forest. And there are the very friendly, religious people, who radiate so much calmness and joy.
At night we were able to admire the Milky Way in the sky in all its glory.
Our queen stage from Kopra Dhanda to Kayer Lake at around 4,700 metres was strenuous – but reaching our goal below Annapurna South made up for it with feelings of happiness; and we were also very proud!
Our heartfelt thanks go to our friendly, funny and always attentive companions: Kersing, our young and reliable guide, and Namsir, our porter, who carried our luggage up the many metres of altitude in an impressive way. Thanks to the geoDiscovery Tours team for the great organisation and especially to the owner Kolay Gülüstan, who gave us excellent advice during our trip planning and promptly answered every (!) one of our many questions.
