In November I was one of 3 participants of the trek to Muldai Peak and Poon Hill.
Even in advance there was personal contact with Ms. Kolay, who answered all my questions and very straightforwardly adapted the trip to my individual wishes.
Our guide was Dinesh Sapkota. He speaks German and became a friend during the trek. I can only warmly recommend travelling with him. He was charming and funny, attentive and considerate, and simply led us as a group perfectly through his country.
The tour itself is classified as a beginner tour. The trails are nevertheless – as far as the ascents are concerned – quite strenuous, however the daily stages are not so long and it does not go higher than 3,700 m. There was also plenty of time to get to know not only the mountains, but also the culture and religion of the country.
I liked Muldai Peak better than Poon Hill – simply because it is still completely undiscovered and we had the summit to ourselves. We were up not only for the sunrise, but also in the afternoon the day before – which I can only recommend. Looking out from the summit over the sea of clouds was simply goosebumps and pure happiness !!! But the sunrise from Poon Hill is also spectacular and should by no means be missed.
Overall, I was simply thrilled with the tour and the organisation by Ms. Kolay and this won’t be the last time I travel with
geoDiscovery Tours! Promised!
To the question of whether I will travel to Nepal a second time….
A second time? It will be the 11th time for me !!!! I love this country with all its facets! I am grounded there and am happy. The people and the rich culture in combination with the mountain world, the simplicity, the colours and smells … unique.
