Nestled in the breathtaking mountain landscape of the Himalaya lies the Buddhist Tengboche Monastery, which is one of the three oldest in the Khumbu area. It stands at an altitude of 3,867 m within the Sagarmatha National Park, which was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1979. This beautiful stone building was constructed in 1916 by Lama Gulu and has since been rebuilt and refurnished several times. Magnificent views of Mount Everest, Nuptse and Ama Dablam open up from this spiritual place, which is able to offer rewarding and inspiring experiences.
