Sport and movement in the form of dancing, hiking, jogging, fitness and swimming have always played a big role in my life. Activity and a strong urge to move are formative for me. This is also reflected in a special passion for travelling, where foreign cultures, people and landscape concepts captivate and enchant me again and again. Along the way I discovered stillness and meditation in various monastery complexes for myself, but also in community.

From the very beginning, I have wanted to try everything. As a teenager I played football very badly, tried my hand at handball, and in 2014 I trained relentlessly for my first half marathon. I had a clear goal in mind and could already feel the cheers along the route and at the finish — until a slipped disc stopped me. That taught me to pause and listen to the signals my body sends.

My path led me to Bikram yoga (yoga at 40 degrees room temperature). I was looking for something that would help me overcome my stiffness, bring me joy at the same time and connect body, mind and soul. After about a year I wanted to learn more about yoga; instead of „just“ the 26 ASANAS (26 exercises), I longed for a stronger connection between meditation and yoga. So I practised in various styles and visited many different yoga studios.

My six-month volunteer placement in a Nepalese orphanage in 2017/2018 inspired my first visit to Rishikesh, the centre of yoga & meditation teaching on the sacred Ganges river at the foot of the Himalaya. Here I completed an intensive yoga teacher training and took plenty of time for self-reflection. With Hatha yoga, the original form of yoga, I felt most at home. In 2020 I was drawn to Rishikesh again, a place that has such a mystical and impressive effect on me. I continued my education with a mindfulness & meditation teacher training. This has since become an important part of my yoga sessions and helps me refocus every day.

My yoga classes are clearly structured and feature powerful, demanding and reflective exercises adapted to the level of the participants. A central element is always a gentle wind-down that leads into a deep relaxation (Shavasana).
